Why we wrote this

This is a GACS team member's own experience. They signed up for Outrank's 3-day free trial and cancelled on the first day. Outrank still charged his card $99 a month for the next two months. He found no way in the app to delete his account or remove his card. Support took about two weeks to answer his email. He only got a reply saying they would look into it after the payment processor got involved. Update, 3 October 2026: after he sent an escalated written notice that cited this guide and filed a dispute through his bank (Mastercard), Outrank refunded half of the money — $99 of the $198 — within days. The remaining $99 is still in dispute. Outrank did not say why it refunded; the sequence of events above is what we can state as fact. That is one person's account. The section below shows what other customers report publicly.

What customers and public records show

These points come from Outrank's own pages and independent reviews linked below. They are not findings by GACS.

  • Who they are: Outrank is run by Outrank SAS, a French company registered in Paris, according to its Terms of Use.
  • Price: Outrank's pricing page lists $99 a month or $999 a year, with paid add-ons for more articles.
  • Trial: independent reviews describe a 3-day trial (one lists it as a $1 trial) that requires a card and then renews into the paid plan.
  • Refunds: one review citing Outrank's terms says first-time subscribers may request a refund within 7 days of the first payment, once per customer.
  • Cancellation complaints: a summary of about 85 public reviews lists these as recurring problems: no self-service cancellation, billing attempts after people asked to cancel, and inconsistent support. Other reviews also call cancellation friction a recurring complaint.
  • Balance: many Trustpilot reviewers are happy with the product. Its score has changed over time (reviews quote figures from 3.4 to 4.3), so check the live page.

Step 1: Cancel properly, so the charges actually stop

Outrank account

Log in at outrank.so and look in account or billing settings for an option to cancel or manage your subscription. Cancel, then screenshot the confirmation page and save any email. If there is no option, email support asking for immediate cancellation in writing.

Credit or debit card

Call the number on the back of your card. Ask them to block future charges from Outrank and to dispute every charge made after you cancelled. If needed, ask for a replacement card number — that stops any charges on your saved card.

PayPal

If you paid through PayPal: Settings, then Payments, then Manage automatic payments. Select Outrank and cancel it so no further charges can be taken.

Delete your account and data

If you can't do it yourself, email support asking them to close your account, delete your personal data under GDPR (Outrank is a French company) and remove your saved card. Keep the email as proof.

Stopping use of the tool does not cancel the subscription. Billing continues until it is cancelled.

Step 2: Get your money back

  1. Step 1

    Collect your proof

Screenshot the trial signup date, your cancellation confirmation or cancellation email, and every charge on your statement. Your cancellation date is your strongest evidence.

  2. Step 2

    Ask Outrank in writing

Email support with the dates and amounts, and ask for a full refund of every charge made after you cancelled. Ask for a reply within 5 business days. Save the email thread.

  3. Step 3

Dispute with your card issuer or PayPal

Don't wait weeks for a reply — disputes have deadlines (often 60 to 120 days from the charge). Choose "cancelled subscription" or "cancelled recurring transaction" as the reason and paste the letter below.

  4. Step 4

    File a complaint

In the US, report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to your state attorney general. In the EU, contact your national consumer centre. Complaints become part of the record regulators use.

Copy-paste dispute letter

I am disputing charges from Outrank (Outrank SAS, outrank.so).

I signed up for the free trial on [date] and cancelled it on [date], before the trial ended. I have attached [screenshot / confirmation email / my cancellation email to support].

Despite cancelling, I was charged:

[Date] - $99.00
[Date] - $99.00

I contacted Outrank on [date] asking for a refund and [received no reply / was refused]. These charges were made after I cancelled and are not authorized. Please refund them and block future charges from this merchant.

Thank you.

How to spot a subscription trap before you pay

  • A $1 or free trial that needs your card and turns into $99 a month after a few days.
  • No cancel or delete-account option in the app — only "contact support".
  • You can't remove your saved card yourself.
  • Support replies that take days or weeks while billing keeps running.
  • The trial length is short (3 days), so a single missed reminder costs you a full month.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my Outrank subscription?

Look for a billing or subscription option in your Outrank account settings and cancel there, then screenshot the confirmation. If there is no self-serve option, email Outrank support in writing asking them to cancel immediately and confirm by email. Customers report that cancelling can be difficult, so also stop future charges at your card issuer or PayPal.

Outrank charged me after I cancelled the free trial. What do I do?

Gather proof of when you cancelled (screenshot, confirmation email or the support email you sent). Ask Outrank in writing for a refund. If there is no reply within a few days, dispute each charge with your card issuer as "cancelled subscription, still billed" and attach the proof. A cancellation during the trial is strong evidence in a dispute.

Does Outrank give refunds?

According to an independent review citing Outrank's Terms of Use, first-time subscribers may request a refund within 7 calendar days of the first payment, once per customer. Read the current terms yourself, because they can change. If you cancelled before you were charged, you were not asking for a refund under that policy — you were billed after cancelling, which is a card dispute matter.

How do I delete my Outrank account and remove my card?

If the app has no option to delete the account or remove your card, email support asking them to close the account, delete your personal data and remove your saved payment method. Outrank is a French company (Outrank SAS), so the EU data protection law (GDPR) gives you the right to have your personal data deleted. Ask your bank to block future charges from Outrank as a backup.

Is Outrank.so a scam?

GACS does not list Outrank as a scam. It is a real AI SEO content tool run by Outrank SAS in Paris, and many reviewers are happy with it. The complaints we found are about billing and cancellation: difficulty cancelling, being billed after cancelling and slow support replies.

How long does Outrank support take to answer?

Reports vary. One summary of public reviews says replies average about 24 hours, with inconsistent answers. In a GACS team member's case, it took about two weeks, and a reply came only after the payment processor was involved. Keep everything in writing and don't wait on support before disputing charges — card disputes have deadlines.

Is Outrank.so the same as Outrank.co.uk?

No. Outrank.so is an AI SEO automation tool. Outrank.co.uk is a separate UK SEO agency. Check which company is on your statement before disputing a charge.
