Acceptable Use Policy

What is allowed and what is not when using GACS tools, the public scam registry, the Academy, and our APIs.

1. What you may do

  • Use the free protection tools to check wallets, URLs, messages and social handles.
  • Submit honest scam reports with evidence.
  • Reuse public scam-registry data and dataset exports under CC-BY-4.0 with attribution to gacs.app.
  • Embed the verified-by-GACS badge on your own site if you qualify.
  • Take and pass our certifications and diplomas; share your verifiable certificate.

2. What is strictly prohibited

  • Submitting fabricated, retaliatory, or knowingly false scam reports.
  • Using GACS to harass, dox, or threaten an individual.
  • Scraping the site or APIs faster than the documented rate limits, or reselling raw data without permission.
  • Bypassing or attacking authentication, RLS, or rate limits.
  • Impersonating GACS staff, certifications, or verdicts (including AI-generated impersonations).
  • Using GACS content to promote, recover, or 'unfreeze' funds for a fee — that is itself a recovery scam.

3. Reports & evidence

When you submit a report you confirm the evidence is genuine and lawfully obtained. Do not upload illegal content, personal data of bystanders, or copyrighted material you do not own. Anonymous reporting is supported, but anonymous does not mean consequence-free: malicious patterns are detected and blocked.

4. Community & Academy

Academy learners agree not to share exam content, not to use AI to take graded exams on their behalf, and not to misrepresent a certificate. Certificate verification is public at /verify-certificate — anyone can confirm a credential's authenticity.

5. Appeals & corrections

If you believe a listing is wrong, follow the appeals path on the editorial policy page. We respond within 7 days. Frivolous, repeated or legal-threat-only appeals are documented.

6. Enforcement

Violations may result in rate-limiting, removal of submissions, revocation of certificates, IP-level blocks, public takedown notices, and where appropriate referral to law-enforcement or platform-abuse teams. We cooperate with valid legal process.
