First 10 minutes if something happens

1. 1.Get to a safe, public spot (café, hotel lobby, shop) and call All emergencies on 911 if anyone is hurt or in immediate danger.

Top 5 scams to watch for

1. 1. Taxi long-hauling via the airport tunnel
   Driver takes I-215/tunnel from Harry Reid airport, doubling the fare.
   Avoid: Tell the driver 'no tunnel, surface streets only' before departure.
   If it happens: Refuse to pay the inflated fare; photograph the medallion number.
2. 2. Resort fee & surprise parking charge
   Nightly 'resort fee' of $45–$55 not shown in booking price, plus $25 parking.
   Avoid: Check 'total price' on the booking, not just nightly rate — resortfeechecker.com lists real totals.
   If it happens: You cannot avoid paying — it's contractual — but always dispute if it wasn't disclosed at booking.
3. 3. Strip 'escort' bait-and-switch
   Card-slap flyers advertise 'girls to your room in 20 min' — the reality is theft or extortion.
   Avoid: Ignore all call cards handed out on the Strip.
   If it happens: If drugged, call 911 immediately — first responders will not report drug testing to police.
4. 4. ATM cash-advance surcharge on casino ATMs
   Casino ATM charges $8–$15 fee + your bank's fee + up to 5% for cash advances on credit cards.
   Avoid: Withdraw from your home bank's ATM before arriving.
   If it happens: You agreed to the surcharge on screen — no dispute path.
5. 5. Fake ticket sellers outside shows
   'Discount' show tickets from folding tables — the barcodes are fake or already used.
   Avoid: Buy only from vegas.com, the venue box office, or the resort's concierge desk.
   If it happens: Dispute card charge within 60 days if you paid electronically — you got no service.
