How to Report a Scam Account on TikTok

Step 1

Capture proof before you report

Screenshot the @username, profile URL, bio links, DMs, live-stream gift requests, comments, and any external Telegram/WhatsApp handles they push you to. Reporting can hide the account from your feed, so collect evidence first.

Step 2

Report the scam video

Open the video → tap Share (arrow) → Report → choose Scams and fraud (or Frauds and scams). Pick the most specific reason — investment, romance, giveaway, impersonation, phishing link, or fake customer service — and submit.

Step 3

Report the scam profile

Open the profile → tap the three dots (top-right) → Report → Report account → Scams and fraud. If the account is pretending to be a celebrity, brand, or someone you know, choose Impersonation instead so TikTok routes it to the verified-identity team.

Step 4

Report scam comments

Long-press the comment (mobile) or hover and click the flag (web) → Report → Scams and fraud. Do this for every scam reply on a legitimate creator's video — TikTok scammers piggyback on viral posts with fake giveaway links and "DM me to invest" comments.

Step 5

Report scam DMs and live streams

In a DM, tap the profile picture at the top → Report. In a live stream, tap the three dots → Report → Scams and fraud. Screenshot gift requests, wallet addresses, and Telegram/WhatsApp handoffs before you leave the room.

Step 6

Block after reporting

Block the account and any backup handles they mention (often numbered variants like @name1, @name.real). Do not confront them first — that gives them time to delete videos, rename the account, or move victims to another app.

Step 7

Submit the handle to GACS

Add the TikTok @username, profile link, wallet address, phone number, or message text to GACS so the next person searching that handle sees a warning before they follow, tip, or click.
