Block “Scam Likely” Calls on T-Mobile with #662#
T-Mobile labels suspected fraud as “Scam Likely” by default, but it still rings. One short code stops those calls on the network instead.
The three codes
#662#— Turn Scam Block on — confirmed fraud calls are blocked on the network.#787#— Check whether Scam Block is currently on for your line.#632#— Turn Scam Block off again.
Step by step
- From your T-Mobile or Metro line, dial #662# and press call. A confirmation text arrives within seconds — nothing to install.
- Confirm it stuck by dialling #787#.
- Install the free Scam Shield app for finer control and a log of what was blocked.
- In the app, set Scam calls to Block and likely nuisance categories to Label so real calls still get through.
- Turn on Caller ID so unknown numbers show a name where T-Mobile has one.
- Report any scam call that gets through from inside the app — reports feed the network-wide list.
Watch out for
- Texts claiming to be T-Mobile asking you to dial a different code or call a number to “activate protection”. The only codes are #662#, #787# and #632#.
- “Scam Likely” on screen does not mean the call was blocked — that is Scam ID. You still need #662#.
- Anyone asking for the one-time code T-Mobile just sent you. That code moves your number.

What is the code to block scam calls on T-Mobile?

What is the difference between Scam ID and Scam Block?
Scam ID labels a suspected call 'Scam Likely' on your screen but still lets it ring. Scam Block stops the call on the network so it never reaches you. Scam ID is on by default; Scam Block is the one you switch on with #662#.
Does #662# work on Metro by T-Mobile?
Yes. Metro runs on the same network and the same short codes apply, and the Scam Shield app supports Metro lines.
Will Scam Block stop calls I actually want?
It can occasionally block a legitimate business calling from a number flagged by others. Check the blocked-call activity in the Scam Shield app for the first couple of weeks and add anything legitimate to your contacts.
How do I stop scam texts on T-Mobile?
Scam Block covers calls only. Forward the text to 7726 (SPAM) from your line, then delete it without tapping any link. Report the sender number to the GACS registry so other people get warned.
