How to Block Scam Likely Calls on iPhone
“Scam Likely” is a label your carrier attaches before the call reaches you — it is not a phone number and you can never call it back. On iPhone you can silence every one of them in about two minutes, using settings Apple already gives you.
The 60-second fix
Settings → Apps → Phone → Silence Unknown Callers → ON. On T-Mobile, also dial #662#.
Step by step
- Turn on Silence Unknown Callers. Settings → Apps → Phone → Silence Unknown Callers → ON. Anyone not in Contacts, Recents, or Siri Suggestions goes straight to voicemail without ringing.
- Turn on Call Screening (iOS 26). Settings → Apps → Phone → Screen Unknown Callers → Ask Reason for Calling. iPhone answers silently, asks who is calling, and only rings you if a real person replies.
- Add the free carrier block. T-Mobile: dial #662#. AT&T: ActiveArmor app → Block suspected spam. Verizon: Call Filter → Spam filter → High.
- Block the individual number. Phone app → Recents → tap the ⓘ beside the call → Block this Caller. Use this for a number that keeps getting through the filters.
- Report the number. Forward the number to 7726 (SPAM) so your carrier adds it to the shared block list, then report the scam so other people get warned.
Never do these
- Never press 1 to “speak to an agent” — it confirms your line is live.
- Never call a Scam Likely number back; you reach the boiler room, not your carrier.
- Never read a code from a text out loud to a caller, whoever they claim to be.
