Methodology & limitations
Counts are distinct registry records created in the calendar month shown, in UTC. We count rows, never the running "reports" counter on a listing, because that counter is also incremented by automated re-scans and would overstate activity.
Two very different sources feed these numbers. Most listings arrive from bulk ingests of public threat feeds and regulator notices (for example URLhaus, OpenPhish, ScamSniffer). A much smaller number are reports filed by members of the public through gacs.app. A large month-over-month swing in listings usually reflects the timing and size of a feed import, not a real-world surge — the "public reports" figure is the better signal of consumer-reported activity.
A listing becomes a confirmed entry only after three independent reports or a corroborating authoritative source. Entries can be appealed and removed, so historic figures may be revised down.
No personal data about reporters or victims appears in any figure or export on this page.
